Outdoor Adventure Program Director (seasonal)

Description

Work on the shores of Lake Samish and the North Cascades in beautiful Bellingham, WA. This unique opportunity for summer employment will challenge you, give you amazing outdoor opportunities, and allow you to be a part of an intentional Christian community all summer long!

Work in conjunction with the full time program director to create quality, safe, and exciting programs in the outdoor adventure program. (OAP).

Requirements:
-Must be over 21
-Planning and implementing of all off site trips.
-Coordinate food and equipment for off-site trips.
-Outdoor skills necessary.
-Ability to cook outdoors necessary.
-Backpacking, hiking, and trail experience necessary.
-Challenge course facilitation is a plus.
-Belay skills is a plus.
-Waterski/Wakeboard skills are a plus.
-Helping with staff training and continued supervision and training of staff while out on the trail
-Ability to make independent, safe, and good decisions while off site.
-Make sure counselors have materials and equipment for all areas of program including written materials for Bible Encounters and activities.
-Assist with camper meds as needed.
-Helping to create life change in staff and campers and supporting them in all aspects of their faith and growth in those areas.
-Responsible for campers and staff and monitoring ongoing needs of your campers and staff (physically, emotionally, and spiritually).
-Ability to be a self-motivator
-Other duties may be assigned as needed to accomplish the goals and ministry of Lutherwood.
